Prof. Ilaria Buonomo is an Associate Professor in Work and Organizational Psychology at LUMSA University in Rome. She began her academic journey with a BSc in Psychological Sciences and Techniques from LUMSA University, followed by an MSc in Clinical Psychology and Promotion of Personal Well-being, also from LUMSA. She earned her PhD in Social, Developmental, and Educational Research Psychology from Sapienza University of Rome in 2017. She is a registered psychologist and certified mindfulness facilitator.

Following her doctorate, Dr. Buonomo served as a researcher in Work and Organizational Psychology at LUMSA University, where she contributed to research projects on ethical leadership in educational contexts and workplace well-being. Dr. Buonomo's research focuses on organizational health and well-being, examining both risk factors such as stress and burnout and protective factors rooted in positive psychology. Her work explores how values, relational dynamics, and supportive leadership contribute to well-being and professional effectiveness. She has conducted extensive research with helping professionals, investigating the role of compassion, collective efficacy, meaning of work, and positive relationships in promoting sustainable careers. She has coordinated large-scale research projects commissioned by national associations of school principals and has developed evidence-based training programs on stress management, burnout prevention, and well-being promotion for helping professionals. Prof. Buonomo has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals and holds editorial roles in several scientific publications (see her Scopus profile here: https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=57193902558).

She currently serves as Co-Director of the Master's program in Human Resource Management, as a member of the Department's Quality Assurance Committee for public engagement and knowledge transfer activities, and as the Rector's Delegate to the Italian University Network for Lifelong Learning (RUIAP), where she holds a position on the Executive Board.
