A ValueAble network

The ValueAble network project (grant number 2017-1-EN01-KA202-006108), financed on the KA2 line - Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices, represents the continuation of a previous European project participated by LUMSA, On my own... at work, to promote the integration of people with Down syndrome and more generally with intellectual disabilities into the hospitality and catering sector. In the next two years, the partners' commitment will be to involve as many facilities as possible in offering an opportunity for training and hiring young people with intellectual disabilities. The ValueAble label is a certification assigned to the structures that sign a code of conduct that provides for the assumption of precise responsibilities, including the commitment to train their staff on the issue of disability and especially the acceptance of people with intellectual disabilities (Bronze brand), recruitment (silver brand) and the commitment to promote this practice in other structures (gold brand). In the two years of the project, further support to this practice is also provided for the realization of internships abroad for 12 potential workers with intellectual disabilities and the realization of study visits in different countries for managers of hotels and restaurants.

The ValueAble project partners are 13 organizations of 6 different countries: l’Associazione Italiana persone Down (IT), Associacao Portuguesa de Portadores de Trissomia 21 (PT), Down España (ES), Axis Hoteis & Golfe (PT), Solmelià Italia S.r.l.
