Insurance and medical assistance for foreign students

All students enrolled at the Lumsa University are covered by an accident insurance policy .The Insurance office deals with all issues related to insurance policies.

From 2 April 2013, following the entry into force of D. Lgs. 69/12 and the opinion of the Board of Auditors, non-resident students may not be registered with a GP in their place of residence and with the General Practitioners of the Rome  Healthcare Board at the same time.
During your studies it is however possible for you to select a GP in Rome as an alternative to that of your place of residence.

Students wishing to temporarily de-register from their GP in their place of residence and register with a physician in Rome must contact the CUP (Central Health Bookings) with an ID document and their national health card.
EU students who are not permanently resident in Italy, possessing an insurance in their country of residence and possessing a European health card (TEAM):
Such students may have recourse directly to a GP of the National Health System (or to an Emergency Department of a hospital).
EU students who do not possess insurance cover in their country of residence (no TEAM):
Such students must take out a specific insurance policy. After that they may have recourse directly to a GP of the National Health System (or to an Emergency Department of a hospital).
If such an insurance policy is lacking, the amounts due for the health treatment will be wholly charged to the student.

Non-EU students:
Non-EU students who are registered with the National Health System and are interested in this service should contact  Az.  ASL-ROME 01.
To apply for voluntary registration with the National Health System students must pay a lump sum of € 149.77 on a yearly basis. The amount is paid yearly and its validity expires on December 31st of each year. It entitles payers to receive a health card with an indication of the GP of their choice. Address to USL to gain access to this service.

Counselling:
This is a free service offered by “Humanitas”, the School of specialisation in Psychotherapy. It offers LUMSA students professional psychological assistance to help them with difficulties they may experience in adapting to university life and coping with their studies.
